UNAPOLOGETIC

Musings of an Educated African Woman

A short description that introduces visitors to your business offerings

For Pedro & Aso

This blog & podcast is dedicated to the memory of two dear friends, Pedro Eurico Antunes (17 November 2023) and Akosua Nimo-Tieku (Aso) (13 January 2024), whose sudden passing deeply shaped the reflections shared here.

We spent countless hours discussing the paradox of life, family, career, and the realities faced by professional women striving for balance. Pedro and Aso constantly encouraged me to speak openly about the challenges women face, especially the difficult truth that perfect work-life balance does not truly exist and that something meaningful often has to give.

Each UNAPOLOGETIC blog post and podcast episode is a short reflection on the experiences of African women navigating career, family, and personal expectations. These stories draw from my journey as a mother, daughter, sister, friend, and professional in law and education and from conversations with women whose experiences echo the same struggles and resilience.

This platform is my way of honouring those conversations, celebrating our efforts, and reminding women that we do not have to be perfect — only honest, strong, and unapologetic about the lives we live.

Pedro and Aso, this is for you. Your voices live on in every word shared here. Rest in perfect peace.
